Job Title: Head Flyman – Part-Time / Contract

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Head Flyman to join our technical crew on a part-time or contract basis. The successful candidate will have proven experience with theatrical rigging systems and a strong commitment to safety and professionalism. This position offers flexibility for individuals not currently engaged in full-time employment and who are available to work on a project-by-project basis.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee the safe operation of all fly systems during rehearsals, performances, and technical runs.
Coordinate rigging and movement of scenic elements, lighting, and other flown equipment.
Work closely with the Technical Director and Production Manager to execute rigging plans.

Requirements:

Must not be employed in a full-time position elsewhere.
Must hold or be willing to obtain the following certifications as per Ontario theatre and workplace safety standards:
- Working at Heights.
- Fall Protection.
- Elevated Work Platform (EWP) / Aerial Lift.
Strong knowledge of safety procedures and rigging protocols.
Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
A valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle for travel to various venues. (Bonus!).

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in theatres.
Familiarity with stage management and production processes.
