Nasco Staffing Solutions ( Nasco) is a Canadian business that supplies temporary staff to special events with an emphasis on production technical labour for live entertainment venues.
We hold offices in Vancouver, Winnipeg, Toronto and Seattle with the majority of work happening in Manitoba and Ontario. We are currently seeking a hands-on Controller to manage all accounting and financial and administration reporting for each division.
The successful candidate will be working closely with ownership and a small, high-performing management team.
Although our assignments and clients are high profile our team is mom and pop style with very strong emphasis on integrity and accountability.
We take our service to both our clients and our site staff very seriously and this role must support operations to provide that service in the best possible way; namely with respect, accuracy and excellence.

Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, payroll, and financial reporting.
- Manage accounts receivable and daily bank reconciliations.
- Create financial statements and consolidated reporting; monthly, quarterly, and annual close including profit and loss reports, actual revenue vs projections, cost of labour and coding expenses.
- Monitor daily cash balances across multiple bank accounts to ensure adequate liquidity.
- Preparation of year end internal financial statements for submission to external accountants.
- Coordination with external accountants and tax advisors (HST, payroll, corporate tax and year end).
- Preparation and meaningful analysis of financial information across all divisions, liaising with all groups to ensure timely, accurate information to Senior Management and ownership.
- Assisting in the development and analysis of budgets and long-range plans.
Qualifications and Experience:
- CPA designation.
- 7+ years of hands-on accounting for similar size business or comparable experience.
- Experience as a controller an asset.
- Experience with multi-entity structures.
- Exposure to service businesses and\or special events an asset but not required.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
- Reliable and responsible to complete daily tasks.
- Can self manage to meet deadlines in high work volume times June-October.
